Privacy Policy

Account Information

When you sign in via Privy's Google OAuth flow, we receive your email address, name, and profile photo from Google. We never receive your Google password.

Wallet Information

Momento uses Privy to provision embedded non-custodial Solana wallets. Your public wallet address is linked to your Momento account. Private keys are managed by Privy's secure infrastructure — we never receive, store, or have access to them.

Location Data

With your permission, we collect approximate device location to:

• Show content from creators within a 5-100 km radius of your current location
• Geotag posts at your current location when you publish

Location is collected only during active use of the geofeed or when publishing a geotagged post. We do not track location in the background.

Content You Create

Posts, comments, likes, follows, and other content you create are stored on our servers and shown to other users in accordance with the Service.

Device Information

If you grant notification permission, we collect your device's push token to deliver alerts. We also receive basic device metadata (OS version, app version, device model) for diagnostics.

Creator KYC

If you apply to become a verified creator, we collect identity verification information (name, date of birth, government-issued ID, proof of address) processed by our KYC partner for regulatory compliance.

Usage Analytics

We collect aggregated usage metrics (screens viewed, actions taken) to understand how Momento is used and to improve the Service.

• Operate the Service: deliver feeds, render posts, process likes/follows/comments
• Authenticate you: via Privy + Google OAuth
• Enable wallet functionality: via Privy's embedded wallet infrastructure
• Send notifications: push alerts about new follows, likes, comments, platform updates
• Safety and abuse prevention: detect and prevent fraud, spam, ToS violations
• Legal compliance: respond to lawful requests from authorities
• Improve the Service: debug, analyze trends, ship new features

Momento integrates with these third-party services. Each has its own privacy policy governing its handling of your data.

We do not sell your personal information. We share only in these situations:

• With other users: Your profile (name, photo, bio), posts, comments, follows, and likes are visible to other Momento users in accordance with the Service's design.
• With service providers: The third parties in Section 03 process data on our behalf. They are bound by contract to use data only for purposes we direct.
• For legal reasons: If required by law, court order, or to protect the rights, safety, or property of Momento, our users, or the public.
• Business transfers: If Momento is acquired or merges with another entity, your information may transfer as part of that transaction.

We use industry-standard safeguards: TLS encryption in transit, secure password handling via Privy, access controls on our backend. No system is perfectly secure and we cannot guarantee absolute security. If you believe your account has been compromised, contact us immediately.

Depending on your jurisdiction (including under GDPR, CCPA, and similar laws), you may have rights to:

• Access the personal information we hold about you
• Correct inaccurate information
• Delete your account and associated data
• Object to or restrict certain processing
• Withdraw consent (e.g. revoke location permission in iOS Settings)
• Data portability — request a machine-readable copy of your data

Momento is not directed at children under 13 (or 16 in the EEA / UK). We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a child has provided us information, please contact us and we will delete it.

Momento is operated from Canada. If you use the Service from outside Canada, your information will be transferred to, stored, and processed in Canada and other countries where our service providers operate. Some jurisdictions may have data protection laws different from those in your country.

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. When we make material changes, we will notify you within the app, by email, or by updating the "Last Updated" date at the top of this page. Continued use after changes means you accept the updated policy.
